The Trail Tamers are looking for eight volunteers to help build a set of rock steps at a trail crossing of Rocky Creek. The work will involve gathering and moving very large rocks into place using rigging equipment and will require the use of rock bars, rock hammers and chisels to shape and place rocks.

The crew will meet at 9:00 am at the Shield Ranch office (which is located across from the large red barn). Volunteers should be prepared to hike and work in the heat. Hydrate before you arrive and bring water. Please wear heavy boots and bring good work gloves and eye protection. Camping is available on Thursday night for volunteers coming from out-of-town.

If you need a ride to the project, please send a message to president@trailtamers.org.

Directions from Austin: Drive to Bee Cave via Bee Caves Rd., Southwest Parkway or US 71. From Bee Cave, take US 71 north past RM 620. Turn left at the next traffic light at RR 3238 (Hamilton Pool Road) and drive approximately 3 miles to 16037 Hamilton Pool Road. Shield Ranch will be on the left-hand side of the Hamiliton Pool Road.

Kevin Deiters is the crew leader for this project.
