The Trail Tamers are returning to the Davis Mountains during September 20-25 to work on the trails in the Buffalo Trails Scout Camp. The participation fee of $75 will cover meals and other group expenses.
Registration: Registration is open only to members of the Central Texas Trail Tamers.
Food and Accommodations: Meals will be provided. Volunteers will have access to bunks, showers, and kitchens. There are tent platforms that could be used if anyone should desire to use them.
Fitness Level Description: This project is suitable for individuals in good physical condition. Volunteers must be able to hike 5-8 miles a day and be physically able to perform routine trail maintenance such as trimming brush, constructing creek crossings, moving rocks and repairing trail signs.
Equipment and Clothing: Participants are expected to furnish their own gear, including tent, sleeping bag, day pack, water bottles, personal mess kit, and some a container to use for packing their lunch. Work clothes should be practical and include long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and well-broken-in hiking boots. Most importantly, participants should bring good work gloves and safety glasses.

The Scout Ranch is located off of Highway 17 between Balmorhea and Fort Davis on Ranch Road 1832. Head west on Ranch Road 1832 for approximately 20 miles and be sure to slow down when passing any of the ranch houses.
