Violet Crown Gaines Creek Trailhead Cleanup (Postponed)

Project Postponed Until June 13th because of recent rains and forecasts for more rain on June 6th.  

Join the Trail Tamers on June 6th, National Trails Day, to clean up and restore the Violet Crown Gaines Creek Trailhead located in Sunset Valley.  Volunteers will carry out light maintenance on the section of trail connecting the trailhead to the Barton Creek Trail. The key goals of the project are:

• Clear the trailhead by removing dead branches and brush.
• Improve trail drainage by removing berms and adding drains and dips.
• Enhance trail access by clearing brush from the corridor.

The Trail Tamers will provide crew leaders, tools, and protective equipment for volunteers. Participants will receive food, snacks, and promotional items.

The project will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Volunteers can register at Trailtamers.org.
