Violet Crown Gaines Creek Trailhead Cleanup

The Trail Tamers need volunteers on June 13 to clean up and restore the Violet Crown Gaines Creek Trailhead in Sunset Valley, where recent storms have left fallen limbs and erosion along one of the Barton Springs watershed’s most scenic trail segments.

The key goals of the project are:

• Clear the trailhead by removing dead tree limbs and brush.
• Improve trail drainage by removing berms and adding drains and dips.
• Enhance trail access by clearing brush from the corridor.

Trail Tamers will provide crew leaders, tools, protective equipment, and refreshments.

The event runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Volunteers can register at Trailtamers.org, and Kevin Deiters will lead the crew.
