  • Carson National Forest New Mexico

The Trail Tamers continue to support the Continental Divide Trail Coalition in their efforts to build and maintain the Continental Divide Trail.

This year we will return to the Carson National Forest in northern New Mexico to rehabilitate 5 miles of an area along the CDT that has been affected by constant blow down which has resulted in the closure of the CDT and surrounding areas until now. Volunteers will work to reestablish the tread and install drainage structures where needed and may also assist with installing CDT signs as reassurance markers along the Trail. Volunteers will arrive the evening of the 28th to set up camp, workdays will be the 29th-31st.

This project is broken up into 2 separate projects. Volunteers can choose to register for one or both of the Canjilon Lakes projects, if you plan on going to both, make sure to register for both.

This is a CDTC project, so please also register with the CDTC
