The Friends of Blanco State Park are hosting the Central Texas Trail Tamers in teaching an introductory class on building and maintaining hiking trails.  The “Introduction to Trail Maintenance” class is based upon a curriculum developed by the Pacific Crest Trail Association in conjunction with the U.S. Forest Service. In them you will learn “how trails work”, basic design concepts, safety protocols, and how to gain “trail eyes”.  Kevin Deiters is the instructor.

The class will meet at the Blanco Public Library (1118 Main St, Blanco Tx 78606) and then move to the trails of Blanco State Park to apply the lessons learned during the classroom portion.

The Friends of Blanco State Park is a volunteer, non-profit organization committed to the preservation, protection, and improvement of Blanco State Park. Our mission is to work in partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife to maintain and protect the park's natural beauty, for current enjoyment and that of future generations.

The Central Texas Trail Tamers is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
