The Trail Tamers will return to Candlelight Ranch on Lake Travis during February 9-10 to maintain existing trails.

Patrick Dixon is the crew leader for the project.

Candlelight Ranch provides therapeutic and educational nature-based experiences to enrich the lives of at-risk youth, children with disabilities and their families.

The work on Saturday Feb 9 will largely consist of a re-route of the trail at end of the trail, improving steps at the start, brushing and removing limbs, and various other tread improvements. We will assemble at 9 am to discuss safety, tool usage, the nature of the work, and to break into teams. Bring a lunch, work gloves, and long pants

The work day will conclude around 4 pm. For those that would like to stay through Sunday, you are welcome to camp on this beautiful property. Bring a dinner and breakfast for the following morning.

Candlelight also welcomes you to stay for their chili cookoff and car show beginning at 12 pm on Sunday (http://candlelightranch.org/news-events/chili-cook-off-car-show-2019/). Tickets are $25.

Candlelight Ranch is located 18 miles east of Marble Falls and 9 miles west of Lago Vista off of Highway 1431. Turn onto Muleshoe Bend Trail (private road) and follow it to the left, down the hill until the road forks. Take the left fork to the first gate on your right.

The Central Texas Trail Tamers is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
