The Trail Tamers will return to Love Creek for a long weekend in December. This work weekend will be focused on finishing up the trail that was roughed in last time, from the Stewardship Center to the top of the canyon. Some rock steps might be needed and definitely some tread work and brushing.
Volunteers are welcome to camp either near the Stewardship Center or at the camping area at the top. The Stewardship Center has bathrooms with showers as well as a kitchen we will be able to use, and a couple of bunks (and plenty of floor space for a cot or air mattress if needed).
UPDATE: Volunteers are invited to a pre-project Campout and Hike on Thursday, December 12th! Come on out and hike some of the trails we have built and explore areas of the preserve you may not have seen. On Thursday night, weather and fire restrictions allowing, we will have a campfire. After dark we will have a pot luck dinner no matter what the weather is like, so bring a dish to share and come on out for a fun day with Trail Tamers old and new.
Update 2: Christa says she will bring dinner for those coming out on Thursday. Ham with fig sauce, potatoes and veggies. Still, bring your favorites to share at the potluck. We will probably be eating leftovers on Friday morning and lunch.
We are very lucky to have a volunteer cook and meals will be provided for the weekend starting Friday dinner about 6 PM. If you come out prior to then, you will need to be able to feed yourself!
We will do a safety review and trail building training on Friday evening after dinner.
Angie Hardy will coordinate this trip. Any questions please contact email@example.com
