Join the Trail Tamers this Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 am at McKinney Falls State Park as we celebrate the opening of the 1.4 mile Onion Creek Trail reroute.
Park rangers will lead visitors on a guided tour of the new trail starting at 10:00 am. This will be your chance to hike the new trail and to learn about the planning process and the challenges faced by TPWD in rerouting the Onion Creek Trail away from the housing development along the southern boundary of the park.
The Trail Tamers hosted 18 volunteer events since last August 2022 and provided over 400 hours of volunteer labor to build the trail. Additional support was provided by the Friends of McKinney Falls State Park.
You do not need to register for this event because it is sponsored by the McKinney Falls State Park and is open to the public. More information on the event is available from TPWD at National Trails Day: Onion Creek Trail Hike — Texas Parks & Wildlife Department
The Central Texas Trail Tamers is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
