This fall, the Central Texas Trail Tamers will host several trail restoration workdays for Foster Village, a non-profit supporting foster families in northeast Austin.

This will be the second workday at Foster Village and will pick up from the work completed during the September 6th workday.

Please arrive by 8:30 am and plan on staying to around 1:00 pm. The work will involve:

  • clearing a trail corridor of fallen trees and overgrown brush.
  • improving trail drainage.
  • repairing the tread on a bridge; and
  • repairs to campsites and tent platforms.

Bring work gloves, close-toed shoes, long pants and eye-protection. Lunch will be provided.

If you need a ride to the project, please send a message to president@trailtamers.org.

Founded in 2016, Foster Village is led by experienced foster parents, child development experts, child welfare advocates and a board made up of passionate and diverse community professionals. They offer practical support and resources to foster families, and they strive to address the root causes at work in the child welfare system.

Foster Village is located at 10545 Dessau Rd, Austin, TX 78754.

Kevin Deiters is the crew leader for this project.

The Central Texas Trail Tamers is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
